My friend has a 2008 vw jetta and is getting rid of her vw factory stereo can I use it in my 2006 jetta?

I called the dealership and the lady couldnt give me an answer.. I've noticed a lot of the vw parts are compatible from 2006-2009 but no one can see to tell me if the stereos are compatible..|||as long as they both either monsoon or no monsoon. and you have the code to it.
