How Much Does It Cost To Get Brakes Replaced For A 1996 VW Jetta?

I have a 96 VW Jetta and I hear this slight grinding sound when I slow down. Among a few other small problems. Around how much will it cost for me to get them replaced? Or Fixed? I know absolutely nothing about cars so please help.|||If its a overhaul 700$ or more. Could just need machining and pad replacement which would be 250$ or less. Really depends on what needs to be done and the condition. Get it checkout and get a quote.|||~$200-$300 at a shop.
