How many miles is a 1999 VW Jetta good for?

I'm looking at getting a 1999 VW Jetta. How many miles is the car supposed to be good for?|||I can take any brand of car and burn up the engine within the first 50 miles or can drag them out to last 500K. Depends on the driver and their maintenance and driving habits.|||depends on how driven;i.e. many short miles or long road miles long road miles are better as well as how it was maintained if followed recommendation in owners manual should be good for least 200,000 miles.|||if it was maintained right it could last to 250,000 miles
