Is a vw bora engine replaceable with a seat leon engine of the same code - AZD ?

My vw bora 1.6 engine is busted. Mechanic says a whole new engine is need. Question is ,can I replace the damaged vw engine with a SEAT engine which is of the same code (AZD) and capacity as the VW.|||As long as its the same engine code they will interchage. You may need to swap manifolds, brackets, mounts.....|||You might need the tranny from the Seat, too. Depending on fitment and angle.
