Why is my tempreture light coming on intermitently on my vw transporter?

i have a 1992 K reg VW transporter T4. And sometimes the the tempreture light comes on? The tempreture is fine and working ok but it still comes on? It is running great and not overheating etc. But it still comes on.? Arghh its most annoying. If anyone could help i would be very very greatfull. thank you.|||It's either a bad connection, or if the light flashes it indicates the coolant level is a bit too low.|||DEFINATELY COOLING LEVEL SENSOR... its plugged in the side of the expansion tank (where you put the water in to top up) top up water above sensor, if no difference change sender unit|||Short in the wiring.|||take the bulb out, that'll sort the problem.|||it might be your temp sensor that is faulty or coolant level sensor [if one fitted ]u can unplug the wires from one of them at a time and see which one it is, basically if the light don't appear anymore then it be that sensor. to test the temp sensor you need battery/to long wires and terminals and bulb with seated connection.attached the long wires to the battery and then attach the bulb to wires then attach it to the temp sensor .heat water up in a pan stick the temp sensor in it [but do not put water over any of the wires or terminals] if the bulb lights up the sensor is working but if the bulb fluctuates then sensor is faulty.|||it will b your thermostat it should b near radiator
