What is the towing capacity of a VW Bus?

I've heard the VW bus from the 70's has a 60hp engine, which isn't particularly powerful. Does anyone know what the towing capacity of that vehicle would be? And is there a difference for the Westfalia / popup version?|||The gas engine of a VW is different then other gas engines. It has a longer stroke which gives it more pulling power (torque) like a diesel and a low top RPM. The guy who puts on your hitch has a pretty good idea of what it can pull. It is called "shifting to a lower gear" You never tow more than the weight of the vehicle. We towed a tent trailer around california mountains no probs. The Westi has more wind resistance.. You eat more fuel.|||Very little. It's doing good to move itself much less tow something.|||nil
