Im towing a 1979 VW Camper Van cross country, what is the best way to do it?|||If it's a manual transmission you can tow it on the wheels in neutral. I don't know how much it weighs, but a dolly would make it a lot easier. If it's an automatic you'll have to put it on a trailer, or tow it with the back wheels off the ground.
zxc|||Suggest renting a UHaul trailer, one you can put whole van on. Engine etc in rear would have to tow with rear wheels off ground but also steering would have to be tied straight.If not will ruin tires. Short distance could tow with front on small tow trailer vehicle in neutral, but not cross country. Safer with first one and no damage to drive train especially on your classic.|||put it on a flat bed car carrier.
