What year is the VW bug in the Volkswagen comercials?

I have been seeing the Black VW bug in the Volkswagen commercials and was wondering what year it was. Does anyone know?|||the little black one is a 66 model, that was the last year they used the tubular bumpers on those, cool car isn't it,i used to have a white one like that one on the commercial, not very fast but extremely cheap to operate, good luck.,,PS actually it could be from a 64 -to a 66,you cant tell the difference in the front ends on those models.|||your welcome,i have owned 3 of the 66 models and loved all of em,the wasn't very fast but really fun to drive, take care of yours their hard to find these days in good shape.

|||It is impossible to tell from the commercial because the VW Bug had the same design for over 30 years and they made that car for over 30 years.

It can be any year from 1932-1975. They are all the same so it does not really matter.

The reason why they kept the design for so long is that the car was very popular and reliable. It was cheap, but practical. It once was the most sold car in the world.|||Hi There

I believe this is a 1962 volks wagen.

You can kind of tell if this one is in it's original condition, two things.

1) the radio antenna is on the right side of the car the 66 it's on the left and

2) the original rims are different from the 66, it also has full moon hub caps, the 66 is different.

Now that all hinges on it being in it's original condition....

VW bug racing fan since 1978....

....cya....|||The last year they made the tube like bumpers was '67, in the last 30 years of the bug, it changed looks several times, it did not stay the same. I think it is a '66 from what I remember reading on the samba.
