What is the best motor for speed to put in a vw bug?

I want it to go fast and judging by some youtube vids its very possible to make a fast as hell vw, so what do I need to get and how easy/difficult will it be to do?|||First off; Bugs were not made for top end speed. But if you must. Go with a 1600 cc engine, install 88 jugs and pistons( 88's so you don't have to fly cut the block)next add a high pressure/volume oil pump. A mild cam .Take the flywheel to a machine shop and have it cut down from 75 pounds to 14 pounds Not only will it be quick but will raise front end high enough to jump pop cans. Don't forget to add twin carbs and intakes. Use J tubes insted of heater boxes. There are still many books on bug performance. I Hope Your Wallets Deep. Good luck. This is just an outline I hope you will read more about it before you attempt it.|||First thing is to get the brakes and suspension up to dealing with more speed then the transmission needs upgrading then replace the engine with a Porsche flat6 or if you want to be more radical a big old v8. Of course it will still handle very badly but it would be fast in a straight line But I think you want appearance not a big bucks conversion so fit some chrome bits and a bigger exhaust. Chances are the performance will suffer but the pose value will be find and it won't break the bank!|||Put a VR6 Motor inside the bug
