How much could I buy a reliable, classic VW Beetle for in Mexico?

I've noticed that classic VW Beetles go for a lot of money in the US and Canada, between $5000 and $10,000. But they had been produced in Mexico for years. I would assume the climate, and their abundance, would mean there would be a lot of them, and they would cost considerably less in Mexico. Am I right?|||Its tricky getting them out here. Its much easier to take a US car and register it in Mexico. In Mexico they are like a Ford Taurus, they are a very common car. Depending on who you buy it from you could get a great deal. Ive heard several hot rod stories of folks bringing back mint condition vehicles from Mexico to the US for pennies on the dollar.|||You are correct, however, you will not be able to bring it back to the US. They were banned in the mid 70's due to strict emission standards.|||no cause if you got to vince mcmahon he gives them out for free cause he is a rich billionaire tycoon
